Therefore, according to Dr Ramesh Bhat, the competency test and personal interview will have a duration of 45 and 30 minutes respectively.
- Rationale for adding NMIMS Competency Assessment to the Final Selection Process: According to Dr. Ramesh Bhat, the vice chancellor at NMIMS ”This year, NMIMS Competency Assessment test is conducted in place of the WAT and WATSON Glazer tests. The test assesses candidates for different skill sets compared to the stage 1 assessment. These skill sets align more with the requirements of a management program.”
- Aim of Revising the Weightage of NMAT Score & Introduction of Competency Assessment: The students who scored well in the NMAT exam 2024 raise a major concern that they might feel left out with only 20% provided to the NMAT score.
To clarify the doubts of the students Dr. Ramesh Bhat, the vice chancellor at NMIMS said “ The students who perform better in stage 1 (NMAT) will also perform better in stage 2 (Competency Assessment). Stage 1 is the general aptitude test while stage 2 assessment is based on managerial assessment depicting the overall performance in the managerial aspect of the candidate and makes him more fit to the MBA program.”
